Management and Administration Placement with Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce
This placement will have the opportunity to work across our membership, commercial and delivery teams at the Chamber of Commerce gaining valuable exposure to a breadth of services.
Any person placed within the Chamber will have a full induction plan, will be assigned a Chamber buddy and will have the opportunity to build on existing skills, and develop new skills for the duration of the placement.

About the placement
The placement with the Chamber will include, but not be limited to the activities listed below:
- Dealing with queries and supporting businesses via phone, email and social media.
- Attending networking events to provide support – this could be checking guests in, and answering questions from delegates on the day.
- Supporting with back-office administration from setting up meetings, running reports, data entry and analysis, typing letters and notes, and organising meetings.
- Setting up both internal and external meetings, and ensuring that meeting rooms are booked if applicable.
- Supporting the data strategy of the Chamber by helping to cleanse data as part of other tasks.
- Support with research tasks

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce is the largest accredited Chamber of Commerce in the UK, with over 4,200 members. With a HQ on Deansgate in Manchester City Centre, the Chamber represents each of the 10 Local Authority areas in Greater Manchester. The Chamber is committed to promoting commerce, community and culture in our city region.
The Chamber is an independent, not-for-profit and exists to support businesses and create the best climate for the region to thrive. About the T Level – Management and Administration
During the 2-year programme, students will develop the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of management and administration occupations.
This course is suitable for anyone interested in a career in management and administration.
Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:
- business context – an overview of organisational cultures and values, different types of internal and external stakeholder, different forms of governance and the impact of organisations on society and the environment
- project and change management – an understanding of the common change management theories and models and how to support and improve projects
- business behaviours – the importance of good communication and adapting social communication styles to professional standards and according to purpose, medium and audience
- quality and compliance – the importance of maintaining and improving quality in all aspects of public and private sector organisations
